Texas A&M’s Maroon & White color scheme is both historic and vastly crucial to one of the most passionate fan bases on the planet. At the same time, some feel the team should not experiment with the uniform during each football season. However, while former coaching regimes, especially the Kevin Sumlin era, experimented with uniform combinations — some solid, some not — the attempts have been admirable.
One of the coolest changes this season, which debuted during the Aggies’ 41-40 win over Notre Dame, has been the new helmet script featuring the Aggies’ name cleanly printed in black, surrounded by the white helmet.
This is just the first of what we’ll see outside of the standard Maroon & White home look, as it was revealed this week that Adidas, Texas A&M’s official uniform partner since 2007, has announced that a throwback uniform is in the works and will be unveiled sometime this season.
Without speculating, Adidas released a video teasing the future reveal, and many fans and Texas A&M journalists, including myself, agree that the 1975 jerseys, worn during the Aggies’ Southwest Conference co-championship, will likely be honored 40 years later.

If the 1975 team is honored, you can be sure the uniform will be officially revealed during one of Texas A&M’s five remaining home games this season.
