Longhorns hosting special guest recruit for SHSU game, No. 3 2027 QB

On Saturday night, the Texas Longhorns will take on their final non-conference opponent in Sam Houston. As they look to record their third straight win, they will have a special guest in attendance, Kavian Bryant. The 2027 recruit, who is ranked as the third-best quarterback in his class, will be on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit.

With Bryant on the Forty Acres, Steve Sarkisian and his staff have the opportunity to show Bryant what his future could hold at Texas. The Longhorns have excelled at developing quarterbacks over the last few years, and they are hoping Bryant is their next success story. However, there are a few programs they will have to beat out.

During the recruiting process, the Westwood High School product has received offers from some of the top programs in the country. That list includes Florida State, SMU, Texas Tech, and Arkansas. With no commitment date set, more programs to enter the mix before Bryant makes his final decision.

For the Longhorns, Bryant’s visit is coming at the perfect time. After a frustrating opening season loss to Ohio State, they have been much better at home. The offense still has a few kinks to iron out, but the defense has been one of the best in the nation. In front of another packed house, Bryant should be able to get the full game-day experience.

If Bryant were to join the Longhorns, he would be part of a 2027 class that has the potential to be very good. Texas has been linked to some of the best players in the nation, including Noah Roberts, Tyson Robinson, Nick Lennear, Ahmad Hudson, and Kennedy Brown. With plenty of talent left on the board, Steve Sarkisian and his staff will be busy over the next few weeks.

Regardless of what school Bryant chooses, the Longhorns are already forming a good relationship with the star QB. They hope that leads to him starting his college career in burnt orange.
