Studs and duds from Tennessee Titans' Week 3 loss to Indianapolis Colts

The Tennessee Titans (0-3) hosted the Indianapolis Colts (3-0) at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday.

It was the first divisional game of the season for both teams, and it started dramatically with Cam Ward throwing a pick-6 on the Titans‘ opening series. When the offense returned to the field, though, they managed to get into field goal range and recoup some of the damage.

The Colts did their homework, though, and stepped on the gas. They responded with a field goal of their own, forced a punt, then scored another touchdown, all before the end of the first quarter. It was all downhill for the defense after that, and the Colts earned their third straight victory to start the 2025 season.

Meanwhile, the Titans fell to 0-3 while battling injuries on both sides of the ball.

Let’s take a look at the studs and duds from the Titans’ 41-20 loss to the Colts in Week 3.

Stud: QB Cam Ward

Cam Ward earned Player of the Game honors from Titans Wire due to his play on the field today. The rookie opened the series with his first career interception, and it was returned for a touchdown, but he returned to the field and attacked the game like it never happened. This was his first game throwing over 200 yards. He ended the day with 219 passing yards and one passing touchdown, while reducing the number of sacks he took yet again. He took six sacks in Week 1, five sacks in Week 2, and this week he took four. He had a 74.3 quarterback rating.

Dud: WR Calvin Ridley

Ridley caught one pass on seven targets for 27 yards against the Colts today and had multiple drops. When he caught his lone reception, it felt like he might have a better game today. Unfortunately for the Titans, that wasn’t the case. Rookie wideout Elic Ayomanor looks to be the new WR1.

Stud: RB Tony Pollard

Pollard was a workhorse against the Colts today. He was partially responsible for Cam Ward’s interception, but he returned to the field and ran with aggression. He recorded 16 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown, plus two receptions on four targets for 14 yards. Even when his hands weren’t on the ball, Pollard was involved on the field. He remains one of the Titans’ top offensive weapons.

Dud: CB Darrell Baker Jr.

With Jarvis Brownlee Jr. out today, the Titans desperately needed a cornerback to step up. Baker only recorded two tackles today, both assisted, and the one pass defense he would have had was negated by a defensive pass interference penalty. Not a good showing today.

Stud: WR Elic Ayomanor

Ayomanor was once again reliable for Cam Ward as he recorded four receptions on five targets for 38 yards and a touchdown. It’s the second week in a row that Ayomanor and Ward have connected for a touchdown, and it’s becoming clearer that he is one of Ward’s top targets. Expect to see his number called more frequently as the season wears on.

Dud: CB L’Jarius Sneed

Sneed was flagged for two penalties today, an offside penalty in the third quarter and defensive holding in the first half. His holding penalty was a half-the-distance penalty, and the Colts scored shortly thereafter. He had one assisted tackle and zero passes defensed. Not what the Titans needed with Jarvis Brownlee Jr. in a boot.

Studly dud: WR Chimere Dike

Dike was involved in many aspects of the field today. His stat line reads with three receptions on four targets for two yards, two carries for three yards, and six kick returns for 102 yards. The Colts did not punt today. Dike helped set up a touchdown after having yet another one taken from him, this time on a review instead of a penalty, but he played well despite what his stats say.
