Chiefs vs. Giants: Patrick Mahomes, Tyquan Thornton connect for first touchdown on 'SNF'

The Kansas City Chiefs have finally scored their first touchdown against the New York Giants on ‘Sunday Night Football’ in Week 3.

After trading field goals with the Giants for the first half, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes came out swinging in the second act and orchestrated a near-perfect drive that resulted in a touchdown pass to speedy wideout Tyquan Thornton.

Thornton has begun emerging as one of Kansas City’s breakout stars this season as veteran wideouts Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy remain sidelined due to suspension and injury, respectively.

Take a look at this video of Thornton’s outstanding touchdown catch against New York, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:

Thornton’s touchdown marks the first non-field goal score of Kansas City’s primetime matchup with the Giants and puts the reigning AFC champions in an excellent position to secure their first win of the season.

If Mahomes and company can build on their success of the scoring drive, the Chiefs should face no problem bringing down the Giants.
