Colts reportedly signing veteran cornerback after Week 3 win

The Indianapolis Colts are making an addition at cornerback after their Week 3 win.

According to Jordan Schultz, the Colts are signing cornerback Mike Hilton.

Of note, this signing comes one day after Kenny Moore exited the game with a calf injury. At this time, we do not know the extent of Moore’s injury.

The Colts had Hilton in for a workout in late August following roster cutdowns after spending training camp with the Miami Dolphins.

A nickel defender, Hilton spent the previous four seasons in Cincinnati playing under now Colts’ defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. So Hilton knows the scheme well and should be able to hit the ground running.

Hilton has allowed a career completion rate of 70% over his eight NFL seasons, giving up just 9.9 yards per catch with 13 interceptions and 32 pass breakups, according to PFF.

With the Colts’ 53-man roster at max capacity prior to this signing, a corresponding move will have to be made to make room.
