Former Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris suffered what many feared was a season-ending torn Achilles in the Los Angeles Chargers‘ Week 3 matchup — new reports indicate it truly is a worst-case scenario.
On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that tests confirmed Harris’ lower-leg injury was indeed a torn Achilles — shutting down his debut season with the Chargers almost as soon as it began.

Harris suffered the non-contact injury as QB Justin Herbert appeared to drop back for a play-action, but the former Steelers running back dropped to the turf as he took his few steps.
Moving forward, the Chargers will lean on first-round rookie RB Omarion Hampton to lead their rushing attack — a dynamic playmaker who was responsible for 129 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown in Los Angeles’ Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos.
Harris, a four-time 1,000-yard rusher for Pittsburgh, may have left the Steelers behind this offseason, but fans throughout the Steel City are surely wishing him a speedy recovery.
