The New York Giants came crashing back down to earth in Week 3, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs, 22-9, at MetLife Stadium on Sunday Night Football. The loss drops them to 0-3 on the season, which has become an all-too-familiar spot for this franchise.
Opening the week, head coach Brian Daboll waffled over who would start against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4: Veteran Russell Wilson or rookie Jaxson Dart.
With his seat warming to the touch, Daboll may be forced to bench Wilson earlier than planned and go with Dart as a job-saving measure. It’s a less-than-ideal situation, but neither Daboll nor general manager Joe Schoen can place blame elsewhere. They now have a roster compiled entirely of “their guys.”
With the fourth game just around the corner, here’s a look at the pulse of Giants fans, analysts, and former players.
Giants Wire post says it all
Let’s start with one of our own thoughts, which seems to reflect what the fan base is feeling.

Dart watch back on
After a Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders, the watch for Dart began. When would he inevitably take over for Wilson?
Well, after a career-best performance in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, Wilson appeared to have bought himself significant time. However, that turned out to be just a single game, as the veteran fell flat against the aforementioned Chiefs this past Sunday, which included one of the worst four-down sequences you may ever see.

And the Dart watch is back on…
“We go through the process of evaluating the personnel and having conversations about the personnel,” Daboll told reporters on Monday. “I’m not saying one way or the other, and what it’s going to be. We’ll cross that bridge later today.”

Sparks between Giants employees, fans
Content creation has become a viable source of information, not just in the sports world but across multiple mediums. The Giants, themselves, recognized that this offseason (after some ugly clashes with content creators last season), and announced their first-ever Training Camp Creator Series.
For the most part, the personalities they chose for this series felt somewhat out of touch with the fan base, but to many, it was at least viewed as a step in the right direction.
Fast forward to the current time and the team’s 0-3 start, which coincides with a 1-14 record over their last 15 games, and Giants employees are suddenly clashing with content creators the team originally sought to embrace.
Following the team’s latest embarrassment on national television, Bob Papa and Carl Banks chose to open Bleav in Giants by discussing Bobby Skinner of the Giants Nation Show (formerly of Talkin’ Giants). That understandably led to some friction.

Skinner, who we want to transparently disclose is a friend of Giants Wire, had some of what we’ll refer to as “negative exchanges” with vice president of communications Pat Hanlon last year. Needless to say, the Giants and their employees are aware of who he is.
Whether you agree with Skinner or Banks and Papa, this is not something Giants fans like to see.
To Banks’ credit, he has faced it head-on and repeatedly shared clips of the full, unedited video (which was not edited by Skinner, but rather, later reacted to by him).
I dont delete. Im very comfortable with what I said directly to and publicly about Bobby. https://t.co/aWrUZboVAF

Giants legend slams current players
It’s not just Giants fans and content creators who are critical of the current iteration of the team. Legendary running back Tiki Barber also shared a rather harsh criticism this week.
Tiki calls out the Giants players for not making the plays when they’re needed: pic.twitter.com/9Dss8K9TxI

“The New York Giants players have good players on this team,” Tiki Barber said. “But these good players are a group of undisciplined, underachieving, well put together roster who don’t make plays. They’re not playmakers.
“They’re not aware of the moment when something big needs to happen, and they have the opportunity to make that happen, they don’t make the plays.”
Hard to argue with that.
Fans are losing long-term hope
Even when the New York Knicks are playing well, their fan base is conditioned to believe things will go off the rails. For multiple generations, an NBA championship has eluded them, and many believe they will die without ever seeing the team reach the top of the mountain.
Giants fans are now beginning to feel similarly.
The view from the next time we get to see a Giants Super Bowl from our age group if they don’t fix this thing. #NYGiants 😭 https://t.co/dnynujVS8U

OBJ under-the-radar
A Sunday night appearance flew largely under the radar, but former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was in the building for a Week 3 loss. After the game, he and Antonio Pierce met with superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers outside the locker room.

Beckham remains a free agent, and the Giants are still lacking depth at wide receiver.
