Will the Boston Celtics end up regretting trading star big man Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks this offseason to avoid the many pitfalls of being a second apron ball club under the NBA’s current collective bargaining agreement (CBA)? Or did the front office know exactly what it was doing when it decided to move on from the Latvian center?
If Porzingis makes a return to the court with solid health and helps elevate the Hawks to a top four team in the league’s Eastern Conference, they very well could feel some regret about the move. But there is also a case to be made that it would have happened no matter how Boston’s season (and KP’s tenure) had ended.
The cohost of the CLNS Media “The Big Three NBA” podcast, A. Sherrod Blakely, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over with a guest, Dallas Morning News Mavericks beat reporter Michael Curtis. Check it out below!
