Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have yet to land a recruit in the 2026 class for basketball but still have a lot of targets left on their board. The staff will continue to do work on the class as the new season approaches and building on their top 10 class from 2025 will be important.
One recruit that UNC has high on their list is top 30 forward Cole Cloer.
The senior from IMG Academy in Florida has 20 offers in his recruitment so far but he’s narrowed it down to five finalists on Tuesday. Cloer will now focus on North Carolina, UConn, Alabama, NC State and Florida per his social media accounts.

Cloer is a native of Hillsborough, North Carolina before he transferred to IMG Academy. He continues to be a rising prospect and is currently ranked No. 27 nationally, No. 13 small forward and the No. 5 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
So far, Cloer has taken a visit to NC State, Florida, UConn and Alabama. He has a visit scheduled to North Carolina beginning on October 10th. That will be his final visit in his recruitment and a decision could be coming after that.
