Eagles legend nominated for 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction

LeSean McCoy, the Eagles’ career rushing leader, has been selected in his first year of eligibility as a nominee among modern-era players for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

McCoy, a Harrisburg native and former Bishop McDevitt standout, is one of many Eagles players who made the list of 128 modern-era players nominated for the 2026 class.

A screening committee will narrow the list to 50 players in October, and the full 50-member selection committee will cut the group to 25 and then 15 finalists, who will be voted on before the Super Bowl.

McCoy is joined by quarterbacks Donovan McNabb, Randall Cunningham and Jeff Garcia; running back Ricky Watters; cornerbacks Troy Vincent and Asante Samuel; and kicker David Akers, all of whom have been previously nominated for modern-era induction.

McCoy rushed for 6,792 yards and 44 touchdowns in six seasons with the Eagles from 2009-14. The former Pitt standout also played for the Bills, Chiefs and Buccaneers in his 12-year career.

McCoy finished with 11,102 yards and 73 touchdowns before hanging up the cleats in 2020.
