3 bold predictions for Chargers' Week 4 battle against Giants

The Chargers will travel to MetLife Stadium in Week 4 to face the winless Giants. Los Angeles is nearly a touchdown favorite according to most sportsbooks, and that may not be enough.

Let’s go through a few bold predictions in a game that has the potential to be a blowout.

Defense snags multiple interceptions

Jesse Minter has this defense playing with its hair on fire once again in 2025. At this point, Minter has proved himself as one of the best defensive coordinators in the league. After finishing with the No. 1 scoring defense in 2024, the Chargers have another top unit through the first three weeks.

In Week 4, they are set to face rookie Jaxson Dart, who will make his first career start. The defense should be licking its chops. While Dart is a talented quarterback, this is a difficult defense to face in your first career start.

The Chargers have three interceptions so far on the year, but this is the perfect opportunity for them to add to this number in a big way. Expect the secondary to be opportunistic all day and capitalize on a few mistakes by Dart.

Chargers win by double digits

The Chargers have been in three dogfights to start the year, each of them against divisional opponents, respectively. That’s expected against fellow AFC West opponents, but the Chargers are due for a blowout victory. It starts at the top with its coaching staff as Jim Harbaugh has his guys prepared on a weekly basis.

While this weekend’s contest is on the road in New York, the Giants are inarguably one of the worst teams in the NFL. Not only is this matchup of 3-0 vs. 0-3, but the advanced metrics only further confirm who these teams are. As long as the Chargers don’t come out sluggish, they should have no problem taking care of the NFC East side. That could easily lead to a double-digit victory, the second one of the 2025 campaign.

Offense notches season-high 450+ total yards

By all measures, the Chargers offense shouldn’t have much trouble on Sunday. They have been clicking on all cylinders this year, as they’ve come just shy of 400 total yards in each of its first three games. Well, this is the game in which they finally reach 400 yards, and they’ll go even a little over that number.

The Giants defense gives up 426 yards per game, the most across the NFL. The Chargers should be able to move the ball at ease on Sunday, both on the ground and through the air. Justin Herbert looks the best he has at any point in his NFL career, and that continues in Week 4.
