Chargers start/sit: Week 4 fantasy football outlook

The Chargers offense has been exciting to watch through three weeks of the 2025 season, led by Justin Herbert’s stellar play. The weapons have shown massive growth so far, and the offense has taken off as a result.

Let’s examine this week’s start/sit fantasy football decisions for Chargers players.

Start: QB Justin Herbert

Herbert has picked up where he left off in 2024 and continues to play excellent football. He’s exceeded 240 passing yards and at least one passing touchdown in all three games thus far. That makes Herbert a high-floor option, and his matchup is appealing this weekend. The Giants‘ defense has given up 252 passing yards per game, the fifth-most of any pass defense.

Sit: TE Oronde Gadsden II

IF there’s a tight end to own on this Chargers roster, it would be the rookie. He continues to trend upwards after he registered five catches for 46 yards in Week 3. It was his first look at NFL defenses, and he came up with some timely catches. In deeper leagues, he could be stashed as a potential option down the road. Until then, don’t bother consider starting him in most leagues, particularly in this Chargers offense with plenty of weapons.

Start: RB Omarion Hampton

All arrows are up for the first-round pick. Hampton shattered all of his career highs in Week 3 with 129 total yards and his first career touchdown. Additionally, Najee Harris is out for the season with a torn Achilles. That should only mean more work for Hampton, and the matchup this week is quite favorable. The Giants have a bottom-10 run defense in the NFL, so the Chargers should be able to get up big and get the ball to Hampton quite often.

Sit: WR Tre Harris

At this point, Harris may not be usable in fantasy football at any point in 2025, barring injury. The rookie second-rounder has played just 48 offensive snaps through the first three weeks and totaled just three catches. The top three is clearly set in the wide receiver room and unless if you’re in a dynasty league, Harris should be dropped in standard formats.

Start: Top 3 wideouts

Is it likely that all three have successful fantasy days? Probably not, but you’d have a hard time sitting any of them right now. As mentioned with the aforementioned players, the matchup is favorable against a suspect Giants defense. Ladd McConkey still hasn’t had a breakout game in 2025, so maybe the team highlights him early. Quentin Johnston and Keenan Allen have been the two most consistent weapons so far in 2025, and they should be in your lineups in Week 4.

Start: Chargers D/ST

The Chargers have failed to snag an interception in two of their three games in 2025, but Week 4 presents the perfect opportunity. They are set to face rookie Jaxson Dart in his first career start, so expect the defensive backs to be all over the field in hopes of generating a few takeaways. The only concern here is the potential for the Giants to rack up some late garbage-time yards and points if the game isn’t close, but the matchup is too good to pass up here.
