New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore shared game status updates for several of his team’s players after Friday’s practice session, preemptively ruling out two players for Sunday’s matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Neither offensive lineman Dillon Radunz (toe) nor defensive end Chase Young (calf) were able to practice this week, and they won’t be available this week.
Additionally, wide receiver Devaughn Vele (hip) is questionable for Sunday’s game. He’ll likely be a game-time decision. But everything else was good news — four other players who were listed on the injury report are expected to play in Buffalo:
- WR Trey Palmer (hamstring)
- LG Trevor Penning (toe)
- RT Taliese Fuaga (knee/back)
- DE Cameron Jordan (groin)
This means the Saints will have all five of their starting offensive linemen on the field for the first time this season, with Penning stepping in at left guard while Fuaga makes his return at right tackle. Rookie first-round pick Kelvin Banks Jr. has held his own at left tackle and Erik McCoy has been dependable as ever at center. Cesar Ruiz could benefit from some stability around him at right guard. Hopefully they can make a difference against a vulnerable Bills run defense missing star lineman Ed Oliver and linebacker Matt Milano.
