Last week, against the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ pass rush finally got on track. The team sacked quarterback Drake Maye five times, including two by T.J. Watt. This was made more impressive by the fact that they did it without edge defender Alex Highsmith. Highsmith was out with a high ankle sprain suffered the week before. Will Highsmith be available this week when the Steelers travel to Dublin, Ireland, to take on the Minnesota Vikings?
Late Thursday, the team announced that Highsmith won’t be traveling with the team to Ireland and is officially out for the Week Four showdown across the pond after missing Wednesday and Thursday’s practices.
LB Alex Highsmith (ankle), who did not practice on Wednesday, Sept. 24, or Thursday, Sept. 25, will not travel with the team to Ireland and has been officially ruled out of Sunday’s game vs. Minnesota.

Last week, without Highsmith in the lineup, Nick Herbig got the start. He played 61 starts and the Steelers pass rush didn’t skip a beat. Pittsburgh also gave a larger workload to rookie Jack Sawyer, who is developing quickly in this defense.
