The No. 5 Oregon Ducks are gearing up for their biggest game of the regular season this weekend against the No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions. On Saturday afternoon, it became clear that one of the best players on their roster would be making his long-awaited return.
According to the Ducks‘ pre-game availability report, starting running back Noah Whittington is no longer listed as “questionable” for Saturday’s game after missing the past two contests with an undisclosed injury. The removal of Whittington’s “questionable” tag does not come as a significant surprise, as head coach Dan Lanning stated earlier in the week that he felt confident the senior would be able to play, and likely could have played last week against the Oregon State Beavers, but was held out due to precautionary reasons.
Elsewhere on the availability report, Oregon WR Justius Lowe is also cleared to play for this game. He missed the last two games against both Northwestern and Oregon State with an undisclosed injury.
For the first time this year, wide receiver Kyler Kasper has been listed on the injury report, and he has been ruled out for this game.
