The Detroit Lions rebuilt interior offensive line is getting better by the week. After a rough start in Week 1 that pulled the plug on any top-10 line talk, the Lions have quietly risen back up in the offensive line metrics.
Pro Football Focus updates the offensive line rankings weekly. After Week 1 in Green Bay, the Lions fell way out top-10 range–and rightfully so. Even all-world right tackle Penei Sewell didn’t have a very good start to the 2025 season. Rookie RG Tate Ratledge looked like a guy making his first career start on the road in a hostile environment, while veteran center Graham Glasgow looked a tick slow and underpowered.
A better all-around showing in the Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears helped stabilize the Lions ship. And after a dominant performance on Monday night in the Week 3 win in Baltimore, Detroit is back in the top 10 in the weekly PFF line rankings. An overwhelmingly positive run-blocking performance on Monday night helped rookie guard Tate Ratledge surge to fifth place among all guards this season in PFF overall grade (74.0).
Hopefully, a strong showing against a very good Cleveland Browns defensive line–the No. 1 D-line in the same rankings–will keep the Lions amongst the best offensive lines in the league.
