No. 15 Tennessee (3-1, 0-1 SEC) will return to action Saturday during Week 5. The Vols will travel to Mississippi State (4-0) in a SEC road matchup.
Kickoff between the Vols and Bulldogs is slated for 4:15 p.m. EDT at Davis Wade Stadium and the contest will be televised by SEC Network.
Dave Neal (play-by-play), Fozzy Whittaker (analyst) and Morgan Uber (sideline reporter) will be on the call.
Saturday will mark the 14th time Tennessee will play on Sept. 27. The Vols are 8-5 in games previously contested on this date.
The Vols first played on this date in 1913, defeating Carson-Newman, 58-0. Tennessee last played on Sept. 27 in 2014, losing to Georgia, 35-32.
Saturday will also mark the second time in program history that the Vols will play Mississippi State. Tennessee defeated the Bulldogs, 14-7, in 1952.
The Vols’ most common opponent on Sept. 24 has been Auburn. Tennessee played the Tigers six times and the teams have split the meetings.
