Washington Commanders vs. Atlanta Falcons: Fantasy football start or sit

The Washington Commanders head south on Sunday to take on the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Commanders are 2-1 and have struggled somewhat to start the season, while the Falcons are 1-2, most recently losing a 30-0 shutout to the Carolina Panthers. However, Washington has been plagued by injuries; the Falcons, on the other hand, are relatively healthy and ready to bounce back.

Let’s take a look at some fantasy football players you should start and sit from the Commanders vs. Falcons Week 4 matchup.

Start: RB Bijan Robinson

Robinson is the Falcons’ most trusted offensive weapon. He’s a receiving running back who has recorded 239 yards on 47 carries, and 164 receiving yards and a touchdown on 14 receptions. He put up 143 rushing yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, and had 72 rushing yards in the Falcons’ loss to the Panthers last week. In Week 1, he had 100 yards receiving, too. Expect him to be a focal point of the Falcons’ offense moving forward.

Sit: QB Jayden Daniels

This one is obvious. Daniels is out. However, fantasy owners must make sure Daniels is on their bench this weekend. Daniels has returned to practice on a limited basis, which shows improvement in his knee sprain. However, he still wasn’t a full participant, and against the Falcons, the Commanders weren’t going to rush Daniels. Marcus Mariota is a very capable backup. Leave him on your bench until he’s officially cleared. Even when he does return, Daniels may not be as effective in fantasy if his knee isn’t 100%, as much of his value stems from rushing numbers, too.

Start: WR Deebo Samuel

Terry McLaurin is out on Sunday with a quad injury, which could be even better news for Deebo Samuel owners. The quarterback is Marcus Mariota again, and he will rely on the veteran wide receiver to carry the load. Samuel can also double as a rusher, and he is reliable. He is projected to have the second-most fantasy points on the Washington roster this week. He’s also an impactful kick returner.

Sit: QB Michael Penix Jr.

Last week, Penix was benched in favor of Kirk Cousins after completing just 50% of his passes and throwing two interceptions. He’s taken four sacks this season, but the 30-0 shellacking the Falcons endured at the hands of the Carolina Panthers last week does not bode well for Atlanta. Penix has been inconsistent this season, but he remains the starting quarterback. Keep him on your bench, as he’s not likely to get you many points this week.
