ATHENS, Ga. — Alabama football’s domination of Georgia is nothing new.
As the Crimson Tide celebrated its 24-21 road win against Georgia − the Bulldogs’ first home loss since Oct. 12, 2019 − it did what many Alabama teams have been able to do against Georgia in recent memory.
Alabama has won 10 of its last 11 games against Georgia, a streak that started with the Crimson Tide’s “blackout” win against the Bulldogs Sept. 27, 2008.
When did Georgia last beat Alabama football?
Georgia’s only win against Alabama in 16 years ended in a national championship.
After Alabama beat the Bulldogs for an SEC championship Dec. 4, 2021, Georgia got its revenge by beating the Crimson Tide 33-18 in the College Football Playoff National Championship game in Indianapolis.
Trailing Alabama 18-13 early in the fourth quarter, two Stetson Bennett touchdown passes and an interception returned for a touchdown by Kelee Ringo secured Georgia’s first win against the Crimson Tide since 2007.
When did Georgia last beat Alabama football in Athens?
Georgia’s wait continues for another win against Alabama in Sanford Stadium.
While the Bulldogs have only faced the Crimson Tide three times in Athens since 2008, Alabama has won all three of those meetings. The Crimson Tide’s last true road loss to Georgia was in 2003.
