This past Saturday night was one of NXT’s major Premium Live Events of the year, No Mercy. The show featured four Title matches. Three of the four champions managed to retain their championships. The main event of the night was a one-on-one match between Oba Femi and the ‘Absolute’ Ricky Saints for the NXT World Title. After a strong showing, the former AEW star was able to dethrone the Ruler to become the new NXT World Champion. A former NXT Women’s Champion, and WWE Grand Slam Champion, Bayley reacted to Saints’ victory.
After seeing that the Absolute One was triumphant over Oba Femi, the Role Model, Bayley took to Twitter to share her joy upon seeing one of her friends capture the biggest prize in NXT.
“RICKY DAAWWGGGHHHHH!!!!!!” Bayley tweeted.
The newly crowned NXT Champion also had a message for his fans following his win. He stated that No Mercy was very special. Saints also mentioned that he did not think that this moment was possible, but in the end, he made it possible.
Saints made his NXT debut earlier this year. Since then, he has been able to capture two of the major championships in the company. Earlier this year, he defeated Shawn Spears to become the NXT North American Champion.
This is an important week for Bayley as well. Tonight on WWE Raw, she is set to wrestle another former NXT Women’s Champion in Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez.
