Red October is here again!
The Philadelphia Phillies will return to the postseason for the fourth straight year after clinching the National League East division on Sept. 15.
Now the Phils have earned the right to compete for the franchise’s third World Series title after falling short in the postseason the last three seasons, including last year’s disappointing showing against the New York Mets in the NL Wild Card round.
With the 2025 MLB regular season over and all the division battles and wild card teams set, we now have a better idea of which team the Phillies will play first.

Who will the Phillies play in the playoffs?
The Phillies locked up the NL East title after finishing the season with 96-66 after beating the Minnesota Twins 2-1 in 10 innings during the last game of the regular season on Sept. 28.
Philadephia finished a game behind the Milwaukee Brewers for the best record in the NL (and MLB), so it earned the No. 2 seed and a bye to avoid playing in the Wild Card round.
After securing the bye, the Phillies will either play the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Divisional Series.
When will the Phillies play next?
With the bye, the Phillies will get a break before starting postseason play. The matchup will be against either the Dodgers or Reds in the best-of-five NL Divisional Seiers:
