Dan Dickerson juiced up calling Tigers escaping jam in Game 1 of playoffs vs Guardians

Turn up the volume: Dan Dickerson calling Detroit Tigers playoff baseball is back!

Dickerson was on the radio call in Cleveland for Game 1 of the Tigers-Guardians playoff series Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Progressive Field, and he captured the winning moment to open the 2025 MLB playoffs.

“First pitch high pop up this should do it. Javy Báez, Riley Greene, Báez calling for it, he makes the catch, Tigers take Game 1 in Cleveland!” Dickerson said, voice rising as Will Vest got out of a runner-on-third, no-out jam in the ninth inning to secure a 2-1 victory.

Right-hander Casey Mize will make his postseason debut for the Tigers, while right-hander Tanner Bibee starts for the Guardians.
