Does LSU football have a game this weekend?

LSU football dropped its first game of the year in Week 5, losing 24-19 at Ole Miss. Brian Kelly and the Tigers fell to 4-1 on the year and 1-1 in conference play. The loss stings, but all of LSU’s goals remain in play.

The equation remains simple: If LSU wins 10 games, the Tigers earn an invite to the College Football Playoff. That leaves LSU with little margin for error, though. LSU can afford one more loss, but that’s it.

LSU has a chance of remaining in the at-large discussion at 9-3, but it’s far from a lock.

LSU wasn’t the only SEC team to suffer a disappointing loss in Week 5. The Georgia Bulldogs took their first L of the year, falling to Alabama yet again. Auburn picked up its second loss of the year, falling to A&M. The playoff is a long shot for Hugh Freeze’s Tigers now.

But every SEC team will get plenty of chances to improve their resume down the stretch. When does LSU gets its next chance?

Coming off the loss to Ole Miss, the Tigers are on bye in Week 7.
