Texas A&M announces new addition to Kyle Field during 'blackout' vs. Mississippi State

No. 5 Texas A&M’s Week 6 primetime home matchup vs. Mississippi State will be a blackout for the Aggies, and now knowing that the Bulldogs are a much better team than many of us expected, this was the right choice to unveil the new uniforms for the first time since the Aggies’ memorable comeback win over LSU.

While it was expected that the Aggies would just wear all-black uniforms, Texas A&M’s media team announced that the end zones in Kyle Field will also be painted black, as shown in the video I’ll post below.

This is quite a change, and in just his second year at the helm, Coach Mike Elko can be credited with fostering such creativity, not only to bring more excitement to the game but also to give the Aggies more motivation to perform at a high level inside Kyle Field.

After defeating Auburn16-10, led by Texas A&M’s elite defensive showing, shutting down the Tigers, allowing just 177 yards, including just 52 rushing yards, Elko was proud of his team’s effort, taking over the game from start to finish, especially when the offense failed to complete drives amid the 13 penalites that plagued an progress, outside of the one touchdown and three field goals.

On paper, Mississippi State’s defense is one of the better units in the SEC. Still, after rushing for 207 yards against Auburn’s elite run defense, the Bulldogs’ 63rd-ranked run defense could be the key to getting the offense back on track, providing a balanced attack, especially if the penalty issues aren’t an issue for a second consecutive week.
