Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a significant injury in the Week 4 game against the New York Jets and now we know what happened exactly.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hill is believed to have suffered a dislocated knee, but he is still on his way to the hospital to get more tests and confirm that diagnosis.

“Dolphins fear WR Tyreek Hill dislocated his knee, per source. Hill is an ambulance on the way to the hospital to confirm,” Schefter reported.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport adds that such an injury often comes with ligament tears, which is the biggest threat to Hill being out for the rest of the season.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a minor dislocation has a relatively short recovery time of six to eight weeks. However, more serious instances of the injury that involve ligament tears can lead to a recovery timeline of up to a year.

Based on what we saw on video, it looks like Hill’s dislocation is more on the serious end of the spectrum, although that has not been confirmed.

Perhaps we’ll get an update on the severity tonight, but if not it should come on Tuesday morning.
