Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 5: RB Edition

During Week 4 in the NFL, those who had Ashton Jeanty, Josh Jacobs, and Kenneth Gainwell set themselves up for a great week. If I had told you that Justice Hill would have more fantasy points than Derrick Henry, would you have believed me? I wouldn’t have either. The NFL and the game of football are so great because every week you see something new and something that surprises you. Let’s see if we can put you in good spirits for Week 5 with the Start/Sit RB edition.

Start – Woody Marks, Houston Texans

Nick Chubb has a lot more carries than Marks, but they have the same amount of touchdowns with one apiece. However, Marks has a receiving TD as well. The majority of Marks’ carries came in last week’s game against the Tennessee Titans. If this trend continues, it appears that he will quickly overtake Nick Chubb, who doesn’t seem to be the same back he was before his injury. Marks sparked excitement and could be the feature back, and something to keep an eye on fantasy-wise.

Start – David Montgomery, Detroit Lions

Montgomery had a terrible game last week, and I look for that to change this week against the Cincinnati Bengals. I look for Montgomery and Gibbs to find the end zone rushing during Week 5. The Bengals are giving up over thirty points a game to opposing running backs.

Start – Cam Skattebo, New York Giants

Did anyone expect the rookie to be this good so far? I knew he had passions and grit, but he is exceeding all expectations so far. In the season, he has rushed for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also catching 12 passes out of the backfield. This week, he faces a New Orleans Saints squad that is not very good in all three phases. Look for his numbers to increase a lot during Week 5.

Sit – Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs

Pacheco hasn’t been good this year. Touches are down, catches are down, and he is not being used as a lead back or a third-down back. Right now, he is an afterthought when it comes to fantasy football. I wish the numbers would pick up for him at some point, but when the Chiefs get close to the end zone, it’s the Kareem Hunt show for some reason.

Sit – J.K. Dobbins, Denver Broncos

Dobbins surpassed the century mark against the Bengals, but facing off with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5, I expect him to struggle to reach 60 yards this week. The Eagles are at the top for a reason, until someone knocks them off the NFL pedestal.

Sit – Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals

Jake Browning is not the guy; no matter how much you spin it, the Bengals cannot find the end zone with him on the field. Browning has hurt the production of the wide receivers and has drastically impacted the running backs, somehow. Just when you think they would rely on the run more? They haven’t. It’s just not worth the risk of starting Brown in Week 5.
