The New York Giants took the field on Wednesday for their first of three practices ahead of a Week 5 game against the New Orleans Saints at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Beforehand, head coach Brian Daboll updated the status of several injured players, including running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., who remains out with a shoulder injury.
“Injury-wise. Going to be three players that aren’t practicing today. Dex is sick, that’s the reason why he won’t be here,” he said.
In addition to Tracy, Daboll said nose tackle Dexter Lawrence and offensive lineman Greg Van Roten would each miss practice, although neither issue is considered serious. Lawrence is dealing with an illness, while Van Roten was merely granted a veteran’s day off.
“GVR has got a vet day, and then Tracy won’t practice. He’s getting closer, everybody else will be doing something,” he said.
Finally, no 21-day window was opened for players who are eligible to return from injured reserve (IR).
“I don’t think so this week,” Daboll said.
