Seahawks select Riq Woolen replacement in latest 2026 NFL mock draft

The Seattle Seahawks are rumored to be considering putting cornerback Riq Woolen on the trade market. Woolen hasn’t performed as effectively as hoped this season. The former UTEP standout is also in a contract year, leading to questions about his uncertain future.

Would Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders consider a move for Woolen? There should be no shortage of potential suitors for the 2022 rookie Pro Bowler and co-interceptions leader. Josh Jobe and Derion Kendrick are playing well enough to consider it.

Meanwhile Devon Witherspoon is the only Seahawks cornerback under contract guaranteed to return next season (the other is Nehemiah Pritchett). That potentially makes cornerback a pretty big need for GM John Schneider in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Draft Network has the Seahawks addressing that need in their latest first-round mock draft. In this scenario, the Seahawks select Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy at No. 18 overall.

Jermod McCoy is still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in January and wonโ€™t return to the field until later this season,” Jaime Eisner wrote. “However, when healthy, heโ€™s arguably the top corner in the class. McCoy brings an impressive blend of size, ball skills, and man-coverage abilityโ€”more than enough to project him as a starter at the next level.”

The Seahawks will probably pay close attention to McCoy’s recovery and status this season. His man-coverage ability blends nicely with his size and athleticism. McCoy would thrive in Mike Macdonald’s defensive system.
