Bowling in the Motor City? That’s the common projection for the Spartans.
Erick Smith of USA TODAY Sports has the Spartans landing in a popular projected bowl game in his latest round of bowl projections this week. Smith agrees with On3’s Brett McMurphy and has Michigan State landing in the GameAbove Sports Bowl against Ohio of the Mid-American Conference in his latest bowl projections that came out this week.
The GameAbove Sports Bowl is played at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. on December 26. This has been a popular projection for the Spartans through the first few weeks of the season, with McMurphy having the exact same bowl and matchup in his projections this week.
Michigan State is 3-1 on the season and in need of three more wins in order to reach bowl eligibility for the first time since 2021. The Spartans will have an opportunity to boost their chances of reaching a bowl game in a big-time matchup at Nebraska this week.
