Travon Walker injury update: NFL insider with latest update on Jaguars' DE

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on Monday that Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive end Travon Walker was seeing a specialist for his wrist injury.

Walker suffered the injury early on in Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers. He would exit the game in the first half and did not return.

On Wednesday, Fowler provided another update with a source telling him that Walker is considered “week-to-week” following the consultation with the specialist.

The good news is that the injury isn’t long-term, but the Jaguars may have to play without Walker for the time being.

Prior to the injury, Walker was off to a fast start this season for the Jaguars, totaling 13 pressures and two sacks, according to PFF. Walker is also a strong run defender.

If the Jaguars are without Walker, Emmanuel Ogbah and Dawuane Smoot will help shoulder that workload opposite of Josh Hines-Allen.

BJ Green and/or Danny Striggow will likely be called upon as well to provide the defensive end depth with a boost.

Upcoming in Week 5 for the Jaguars is a Monday Night matchup at home against the Kansas City Chiefs.
