The Buffalo Bills have already faced former teammate Stefon Diggs and in the not so far past. The Bills lost to the Diggs and the Houston Texans just a year ago.
This time in different.
In Week 5, the New England Patriots (2-2) and Diggs head to Buffalo (4-0) for a “Sunday Night Football” clash. Last year, the Bills faced Diggs but it was on the road, this time it will be Diggs’ first appearance back at Highmark Stadium as a member of the opposing team.
Because of that, Diggs’ former teammates still in Buffalo know he’s going to bring an extra gear to motivate himself.
“Just knowing who he is, knowing the competitor that he is, he going to be amped up and excited,” defensive tackle Ed Oliver said.
Cornerback Tre’Davious White echoed Oliver.
“With him coming back here, it’s going to be a little extra,” White said. “It’s going to be on us as a team to match that.”
Although, quarterback Josh Allen did try to downplay the scenario.
“Played (Diggs) last year, so I don’t think it’s anything super crazy. But obviously, being back in Buffalo, who knows if the emotions are going to be heightened for him, or for the fans,” Allen said via video conference. “We’re just gonna go out there and try to perform the best we can”
