Steelers workout 5 safeties to replace standout undrafted rookie

In an attempt to replace the practice squad loss of S Sebstastian Castro, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted five safeties for workouts — Kendell Brooks, Jack Henderson, Maxen Hook, Glendon Miller, and Mark Perry.

Brooks, who went undrafted following the 2023 NFL Draft, has been a part of several NFL teams over the past two seasons — most recently with the Tennessee Titans.

Perry went undrafted in 2024 and has also had short stints with multiple teams since, but has yet to make his NFL debut.

As for the last three, Henderson, Hook, and Miller went undrafted following the 2025 NFL Draft but could serve as capable depth options on Pittsburgh’s practice squad.

While it’s frustrating Castro couldn’t make his NFL debut with Pittsburgh, the Steelers appear to have five options to pick from — and the bye week to make their decision.
