The Detroit Tigers will play the Cleveland Guardians in Game 3 of their wild-card series at 3:08 p.m. (ABC) on Thursday, Oct. 2.
And it doesn’t get much bigger than this.
The month of September was incredibly unkind to the Tigers, as they blew their massive lead in the AL Central to none other than the Guardians while posting the worst record in the entire American League for the month. All of that led to the Tigers having to go on the road to face the Guardians in the wild-card series on the road at Progressive Field.
Although the Tigers closed out September in the best way possible by winning Game 1 against the Guardians, it was more of the same frustration for the Tigers to start October.
The Tigers blew opportunity after opportunity in the 6-1 loss on Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Game 2 at Progressive Field and eventually the Guardians finally took advantage, blowing up for five runs in the eighth inning.
The good news? Despite all the struggles recently, the Tigers have one last chance to right all their wrongs and beat the Guardians to advance to the ALDS.
The game will be televised on ABC. Here is what you need to know:
