After hauling in five receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown in a 28-3 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4, Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton now ranks eighth in franchise history with 397 career receptions.
Sutton’s 5,606 receiving yards rank ninth on the team’s all-time list, and his 35 touchdown catches rank 10th. Sutton is also tied for tenth in franchise history with nine 100-yard games.
“He is a vet and is the experienced one,” Broncos quarterback Bo Nix said of his No. 1 receiver. “He is great in matchups. Usually, in got to have it situations, they are going to match us up and he is going to have a favorable matchup. It takes them putting a safety over the top or double-teaming him, which is tough on a defense. It is a matchup league, and you will find another matchup. He provides us with a really good matchup and today we did some different things with him where we moved him around.
“I think one drive he had a couple of successful third downs which was really big. There in the first half he was available, he was open and he made those plays. He had an incredible two-minute touchdown catch. I think that is why, because he continues to do things like that. He shows that. He puts that on tape. It is hard to defend that when he goes up like that and catches the ball. He is a great person to trust and has been doing it for a long time. I’m going to continue to trust him and he is just a great player. He practices extremely hard, and that is what you get each day out of him.”
