Jonathan Kuminga is set to begin a new stage of his career. Following a storied offseason contract negotiation stalemate that lasted throughout the offseason, the 22-year-old forward recently inked a new two-year contract with the Warriors.
After signing his new deal, Kuminga reported to the Bay Area for training camp with his teammates. However, when he returned to the court, Kuminga was sporting a new look on his jersey. Instead of his No. 00, Kuminga is set to wear a new jersey number for the upcoming season. After four years in No. 00, Kuminga has changed his jersey number to No. 1.

While Kuminga was the third player in franchise history to wear No. 00, he will now become the 15th member of the Warriors to wear No. 1. Veteran forward Kyle Anderson was the last player to wear No. 1.
Other notable No. 1’s in Golden State history include Damion Lee, JaVale McGee, Stephen Jackson, Troy Murphy, Muggsy Boles and Manute Bol.
