New York Giants vs. New Orleans Saints: 5 players to start/sit in fantasy football

The New Orleans Saints (0-4) seek their first victory of the season on Sunday when they host the New York Giants (1-3) at the Caesars Superdome. The Saints have not won a game since they beat the Giants in Week 14 of last season.

The over/under in this game is 42 total points, so a shootout is unlikely. The Giants are averaging 18.3 points per game and the Saints, 16.5. Fantasy enthusiasts will be looking for one or both teams to break their norms this week.

Here are some starts and sits to be aware of in this game.

Start: Saints RB Alvin Kamara

The Giants are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs this season and now face a nemesis in Alvin Kamara, who, in four meetings against the Giants, has tormented them in multiple ways. In the run game, Kamara has carried 78 times for 364 yards (a 4.7 average) with three touchdowns, and in the passing game, catching 15 passes for 126 yards.

Sit: Saints defense

The Saints are 18th in total defense (18th against the run, 15th versus the pass) but are 30th in the red zone. That is the primary reason why they are 30th in points allowed this season (30.3 per game). The Giants aren’t an offensive juggernaut by any means and are missing stud wideout Malik Nabers. But with rookie Jaxson Dart under center now, the Giants appear to be more dynamic and could have a breakout game.

Start: Giants RB Cam Skattebo

Running back Cam Skattebo had 90 scrimmage yards (career-high 79 rushing, 11 receiving) in Week 4. He has a rushing touchdown in two of the three games he’s appeared in this year. He has recorded 50-plus scrimmage yards in each game and is facing a defense that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to running backs.

Sit: Saints WR Chris Olave

Chris Olave had his first receiving touchdown of the season last week. He ranks tied for sixth in the NFL with 26 receptions this season and is aiming for his third in a row at home in 2025 with six-plus catches and 50-plus receiving yards. The Giants will counter Olave with former Saints teammate Paulson Adebo, who is the league’s leading tackler among cornerbacks this year. The Saints have just four passing plays of 20 yards or more, the fewest in the league, so the deep threat is not a concern here.

Start: Giants WR Wan’Dale Robinson

With Nabers out, the passing targets have to go somewhere. Wan’Dale Robinson, although primarily a slot receiver, is second on the team in targets and appears to be the next man up. It would benefit him and the Giants to lengthen his route tree, which is more than likely to happen with so few options on the roster.
