The class of 2027 has a new No. 1 ranked recruit. 247Sports now ranks five-star edge recruit David Jacobs Jr. as the No. 1 player in the country. Jacobs Jr. was in Athens recently and visited the Georgia Bulldogs for the Alabama game.
UGA is making sure the Jacobs Jr. is feeling the love from the in-state team. Georgia has already been named the team to beat for the top edge recruit David Jacobs Jr. by Rivals’ Josh Newberg.
Jacobs Jr. plays high school football for Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Georgia. He is also a high school basketball player.
Last season, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound edge rusher posted 112 tackles, 35 tackles for losses and 12 sacks. He is a game-wrecker and can get in the backfield at any time. Jacobs’ father played for Georgia from 1999-2001.
Recruiting for Georgia went on a hot streak securing two commitments for the class of 2027 on Saturday. Two offensive line recruits committed to Georgia football in four-star offensive tackle Kelsey Adams and three-star offensive lineman Kyson Mallard.
Adams is ranked as the No. 5 offensive tackle in the country. He is the nation’s No. 46 recruit, per 247Sports, and is the No. 6 prospect in Georgia. He is ranked as the No. 402 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Georgia has four commitments in the 2027 class with four-star corner Donte Wright (Long Beach Poly), four-star offensive tackle Kelsey Adams, three-star wide receiver Gavin Honore (Mater Dei) and three-star offensive lineman Kyson Mallard (Westover).
