Alabama 2026 quarterback commit reportedly shuts down recruitment

According to a report Sunday from Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback commit Jett Thomalla has officially shut down his recruitment.

Thomalla, a member of the Crimson Tide’s 2026 recruiting class, has been committed to Alabama since June 2025 when the quarterback flipped his commitment from Iowa State.

At the moment, Thomalla is currently considered as the nation’s No. 163 overall prospect in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 10 quarterback nationally. A four-star recruit, Thomalla also ranks as the No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska where he attends Millard South High School.

There, Thomalla is also in the midst of a stellar senior season, leading Millard South to an average of 65.2 points per game offensively. Across six games, Thomalla is completing 77% of passes for 1,790 yards and a 31:2 TD:INT ratio, while also having rushed for two more scores.

Thomalla is one-of-two quarterback commits in Alabama’s 2026 class, joined by fellow four-star Tayden Kaawa out of Orem High School in Utah.
