Former Nebraska football running back Ameer Abdullah is still making an impact in the NFL. He was able to score a touchdown for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, as the Colts won by a 40-6 margin over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Abdullah only had two carries for six yards, but he found paydirt in the back half of the third quarter. The touchdown made it a 32-3 game at the time, further cementing the lead and putting the Colts in complete control.
The former Nebraska star has had a successful NFL career. He has recorded 1,994 yards and eight touchdowns over the course of 10 seasons. He was most successful during his four seasons with the Detroit Lions, from 2015 to 2018. He ran for 1,251 yards and six touchdowns in the Motor City.
Abdullah played at Nebraska from 2011 to 2014 and was selected by the Lions in the second round with the 54th overall pick. In his four seasons, he ran for 4,588 yards and 39 touchdowns.
The fact that Abdullah is still playing at a high level all these years later is extremely impressive. It will be interesting to see what his role with the Colts will be moving forward and if he can continue to make plays.
