While the offensive side of the ball may steal the headline, as quarterback Dante Moore is having a Heisman-caliber season, the Oregon Ducks‘ defense has more than proved itself as one of the top units in all of college football.
And while they didn’t get to show it off in Week 6 due to their well-deserved bye week, it now ranks even higher in several national stat categories after a number of underwhelming performances from top defenses — namely the Penn State Nittany Lions and Texas Longhorns, who gave up a combined 71 points to the UCLA Bruins and Florida Gators, respectively.
The Ducks‘ special teams has also been solid, with kicker Atticus Sappington connecting on six of eight field goals and 21 of 21 extra points.
Though the Ducks were on a bye, let’s take a look at where they rank in several key defensive and special teams stat categories after a wild Week 6 in college football.
