5 Georgia football players that have improved their stock the most

So far this season, the Georgia Bulldogs football team has relied on young talent in several different areas. Entering the season, there were questions about who is going to step up after a lot of offseason roster turnover.

The Bulldogs are 4-1 entering their Week 7 game against the Auburn Tigers. Georgia has used contributions from several young players so far and will need more young players to step up over the next several weeks if the Bulldogs want to make a run to the College Football Playoff.

Here are some freshmen and sophomores that stepped up for Georgia football this season.

Five Georgia Bulldogs that have elevated their stock in 2025

RB, Chauncey Bowens

Redshirt freshman Bowens was behind sophomore Nate Frazier at the beginning of the season. Frazier was the presumed starter until the fumble happening against No. 8 Alabama. Bowens came in and gave life to the offense in that game running for 119 yards with a rushing touchdown. This past Saturday against Kentucky, he had 15 carries for 70 yards with the next highest being seven carries to Nate Frazier.

Bowens is now Georgia’s leading rusher. He’s run for 310 yards in Georgia’s first five games in 2025.

Cole had a lot of talk coming into this season due to his performances against Texas and showed his versatility with his pass rushing ability and his coverage skills. This season, he has been the most versatile linebacker with him being used as an edge. He is the current sack leader with three.

Williams, the former five-star, was on outskirts last season and a part of this season. This past game against Kentucky, he showed his talent and capability when given opportunity. Being tied as the leading tackler with six tackles (four solo) with a tackle for loss. Even Georgia head coach Kirby Smart wants to find more ways to put Williams on the field.

DB Demello Jones and Ellis Robinson IV

Jones has come onto the scene pretty quickly this season. The former five-star came into the Alabama game and played very well. Jones got more looks on the defense and was even playing the STAR position some against Kentucky and looked the part of it. Jones is not afraid of tackling and being physical with receivers on routes.

Robinson IV has some highs and lows so far this season, but he is still finding his way. So far, this season he has made some mistakes like jumping into the pile against Alabama, which cost the Dawgs a 15-yard penalty. What makes Robinson worth the headache sometimes is his ball skills and potential in being a shut down corner. His two interceptions is tied for the lead in the SEC.
