University of Arizona legend Rob Gronkowski is known for spiking footballs after touchdowns and loud yelps. He has an affinity for Cam Skattebo’s identical boisterous personality and intense TD celebrations.
The four-time Super Bowl champion Gronkowski and his former New England Patriots teammate Julian Edelman praised the New York Giants rookie and ex-Arizona State star Skattebo during their “Dudes On Dudes” podcast episode released Oct. 4.
Gronkowski added that he nearly went beyond his allegiance to the Arizona Wildcats, rooting for their longtime rival ASU in 2024. Skattebo led the Sun Devils to the Big 12 Conference title and the College Football Playoff, in which they lost to Texas last season.
“When I watched Arizona State play last year, I think I almost became an ASU fan because of Cam Skattebo,” Gronkowski said. “I was literally jaw-dropped every single time I watched him carry the ball. I love his style. I love how he plays.
“And that just shows you have a great player out on the field. A guy that just loves to play football is when you’re becoming a fan of your rival because of someone on that team.”
