The Tennessee Titans (1-4) remain out West to play the Las Vegas Raiders this week (1-4) at 3:05 CST/4:05 EST on FOX in Week 6.
One of these teams will earn its second win, and one will continue its slide into misery. The Raiders have not fulfilled expectations after an aggressive offseason. The Titans have failed to meet expectations, posting a lower point differential than the Raiders, but they are clearly in the process of rebuilding.
Here are six things to know about Sunday’s matchup.
The series
The Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans last played each other in 2022. The Titans won, 24-22. The last time the Titans visited the Raiders, the Raiders had not yet relocated to Las Vegas. This was in 2019, and the Titans won, 42-21. All time, the Raiders lead the series, 30-22.
Jeffery Simmons is leading the way
Jeffery Simmons has been beyond outstanding this season. He has easily been the best player on this Titans roster. He has popped on tape, and now his stats are popping. He has been highly productive as an interior lineman.
No DT has more sacks than Jeffery Simmons (3.5).
No DT has more TFLs than Jeffery Simmons (6).
No DT has more solo tackles than Jeffery Simmons (16).
No DT has more pressures than Jeffery Simmons (10).
All-Pro season so far. #Titans

Simmons has established himself as a Defensive Player of the Year candidate after his performance against the Cardinals.
Geno Smith’s interception struggles
Geno Smith this season has had a rocky start. He has thrown nine interceptions this season. He has only played one game with zero interceptions this season, and three out of his five games have had multiple interceptions. He is known as an aggressive quarterback, and this year, defenses are taking advantage. Titans should be ready for it.
Cedric Gray’s breakout continues
Cedric Gray has been a player who has popped for the Titans recently. In the last two games, he has 16 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles. His traits have been all over the tape, too. His trigger, pursuit, and tackling have really impressed. He has been evoking 2021 David Long this season.
Titans’ pressure plan improvement
The Titans stats below from last week were impressive to see. This is such a massive turnaround from where the Titans were in the first four games this season. The pass blocking really put it together last week. It was especially noticeable in the fourth quarter.
Two #Titans stats you hope become the norm for this team:
– Titans D Pressure %: 7th best
– Titans OL Pressure % Allowed: 2nd Best— Zach Lyons (@TheZachLyons) October 6, 2025
The offensive line really guided Cam Ward, too. On the defensive side, it was encouraging, especially from Jihad Ward. This team really lacks any sort of production from the edge rushers on this team.
Incompletions everywhere
This was an interesting collection of stats that links Cam Ward and Geno Smith and their respective accuracy. Smith and Ward really have put the ball in harm’s way this year. Geno’s appearance on this list is ugly, and it says that he has been routinely putting the ball towards defenders. Ward appears twice.
Most incompletions of each “Type” this year, per TruMedia:
Pass Defensed – Geno Smith (19)
Drop – Trevor Lawrence (14)
Throwaway – Cam Ward (14)
Overthrow – Mahomes/Bryce/Tua (12)
In front of WR – Cam Ward (11)
Batted Pass – Caleb Williams (8)
Hit as Thrown – Bryce Young (7)…— James Foster (@NoFlagsFilm) October 7, 2025
Ward, with his throwaways, is more indictments of the scheme based on watching his games. Cam placing the ball in front of his receivers has been a regular occurrence, too, and is not surprising as well, as these types of incompletions have been highly debated within the Titans and NFL community.
