The Michigan Panthers are officially no more.

A few days after the UFL franchise based in Ford Field announced it was relocating, the league revealed a reformulated structure that does, in fact, not include the Panthers any longer.

The Panthers were initially part of the rebooted USFL, reviving the same name and colors as the original Michigan Panthers from the 1980s. It made the move to the UFL when the new USFL and the XFL merged. The team played in Ford Field, with attendance between 10,000 and 30,000 for four home dates in the spring 2025 season. Coached by Mike Nolan, the Panthers lost in the UFL championship game in 2025.

Michigan Panthers official statement
