Travis Kelce reacts to that one Taylor Swift song about his body part: 'I think you're not understanding the song'

If you’re a sentient being who lives on Earth, you probably heard that Taylor Swift put out a new album Friday. And if you follow sports at all, you know at least one song is about one specific body part on Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

That song is called “Wood,” and that’s probably enough context for you to figure out what the song is about.

Kelce was asked about being … exposed … on that song, and opted to play coy about the whole ordeal on his “New Heights” podcast with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. After Jason implied the song was about one of Travis’ “appendages,” Travis slyly replied, “I think you’re not understand the song.”

That line was delivered with a smirk, clearly signaling Jason definitely understood the song.

It’s not hard to figure out the meaning of the song. Swift forgoes all subtext in her lyrics on “Wood,” making it pretty clear she’s referencing a specific body part of Kelce’s.

Given its subject matter, that particular song has gotten the most attention from Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl.” The album, overall, has been met with mixed reviews, with Pitchfork giving it a 5.9, the lowest total the site has ever given a Swift album.

While that is probably a disappointing development for Swift, Kelce doesn’t have many reasons to be upset about the album. “Wood” is extremely complimentary to Kelce, even if he doesn’t want to fully acknowledge what the song is about.

On the field, however, Kelce is also experiencing some disappointment. The Chiefs sit at just 2-3 after five weeks, one of the team’s worst performances in the Kelce and Patrick Mahomes era. Though it’s been a slow start, there’s still plenty of time for the team to get its act together.

And if the Chiefs can’t rally, and go on to post their worst season in quite some time, the existence of “Wood” ensures 2025 won’t be too bad a year for Kelce.
