Kévin Danois (21) had been called up to represent the France U21 set-up; however, it has been announced that the AJ Auxerre midfielder has been forced to withdraw with an injury.
Danois has been an ever-present for Auxerre so far this season, missing just 15 minutes of football. His rise to prominence was reflected in his first France U21 call-up in September and then a contract renewal with L’AJA earlier this month.
However, Danois has now suffered a blow. The midfielder is suffering from an injury to his right thigh. He will not be fit to play against the Faroe Islands and Estonia during the current international break and so has withdrawn from the squad, as Paris Saint-Germain’s Senny Mayulu did earlier this month.
It means that with two European Championship qualifiers coming up, Gérald Baticle will have to do without the two players. It remains to be seen how long Danois will be out for.
