Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams is wary of the threat posed by Zimbabwe ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier clash on Friday (18h00).
The Warriors will host South Africa at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in what will be their final home game of the qualifying campaign.
With the match on the horizon, the Bafana skipper says Zimbabwe have a plethora of quality in their ranks, making it difficult to focus on one player.
“When you look at the Zimbabwe team, you can’t only pinpoint one player. They have players playing all over the world now and doing amazing,” Williams said.
“If you see the goal [Marshall] Munetsi scored over the weekend, it gets you worried.
When quizzed on whether Khama Billiat’s knowledge of South African soil can be an advantage for the opponents, Williams reiterated they are not focused on one player but acknowledged the qualities of the former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star.
“We don’t solely focus on one player, we know his qualities, obviously we have played against him and we know what he is about,” added the Bafana shot-stopper.
”But for us it’s to focus on ourselves, that’s the mentality we have always had because we don’t even know if he might start tomorrow.
“So, we just focus and prepare ourselves, make sure we are ready, we have a game plan, we have a strategy. Obviously we have analyzed them, so we know their strength and weaknesses and we know most of them.
He continued: “We know they are going to come out looking to get the job done as well, they won’t make it easy for us and we don’t expect them to. It’s a FIFA World Cup qualifier and we don’t anything less except 100% from them, so we need to bring our A-game to win this match.
