FAMU women's basketball schedule features Florida State, Florida Gators. See the full slate

Year three of Bridgette Gordon leading the Florida A&M women’s basketball program is soon underway.

On Oct. 10, FAMU released its women’s basketball schedule for the 2025-2026 season.

The Rattlers begin their campaign on Nov. 3, a mile down the road, versus the Florida State Seminoles in an all-Tallahassee NCAA women’s basketball matchup.

Within a week, FAMU will travel to Washington, D.C., to face the Howard Bison on Nov. 8, then George Mason in Fairfax, Virginia, on Nov. 10.

Florida A&M head women's basketball coach Bridgette Gordon coaches up her team at an on-campus practice at the Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center in Tallahassee, Florida.

FAMU’s home opener at the Al Lawson Center is set for Nov. 15 versus the Samford Bulldogs.

Before delving into Southwestern Athletic Conference play, FAMU will visit some Power Four teams, such as Central Florida in Orlando on Nov. 21 and Florida in Gainesville on Dec. 17.

“This schedule is designed to challenge us from day one,” Gordon said in a released statement. “Playing tough nonconference opponents will prepare us for the grind of SWAC play and be prepared for the conference tournament.”

FAMU opens its SWAC schedule at Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach on Jan. 3, one of the two rivalry matchups in the home-and-home series.

The Rattlers will face the defending SWAC women’s basketball champions, the Southern Jaguars, twice, hosting them in Tallahassee on Jan. 10 and then traveling to Baton Rouge on Feb. 26.

Starting on March 9, FAMU women’s basketball will participate in the SWAC Tournament, which features all 12 teams from the league, at Atlanta’s Gateway Center Arena. The SWAC championship game is scheduled for March 14.
