Penn State and Northwestern will face off in a Big Ten contest that James Franklin’s squad simply can’t afford to lose.

The Nittany Lions (3-2) have dropped two consecutive conference games — a double overtime defeat to Oregon and a shocking upset loss to UCLA. The Wildcats (3-2), meanwhile, are coming off back-to-back wins against UCLA and UL Monroe.

Drew Allar will look to rebound after an uninspiring start to the season for the Nittany Lions. He has completed 64.7 percent of his passes for 963 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

Preston Stone leads the Wildcats under center. He has thrown for 918 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions. Caleb Komolafe has rushed for 344 yards and four scores.
