The Illinois High School Association‘s state golf meets were held Friday and Saturday to close out the 2025 high school season. Two area boys golfers had finishes inside the top-20 in Class 1A and a Springfield golfer finished in the top-25 of the girls Class 2A meet.

BOYS RESULTS
CLASS 1A
A pair of South Central Conference golfers finished tied for 11th place in the two-day Class 1A boys state golf meet held at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington.
Pana sophomore Dallas Hubbartt had a 1-under-par 71 in Saturday’s second round to finish 7-over 151 following an opening round of 80 on Friday. Litchfield senior Sam Schwab had rounds of 2-over 74 (Friday) and a 77 to also finish tied for 11th with a 151.
Other area two-day finishers included Hillsboro sophomore Owen Fuller (rounds of 84 and 78 for a two-day total of 161 and tied for 31st), Carlinville junior Carter Zilm (85-82, 167, tied for 49th) and Pana sophomore Carder Burris (82-89—171, t-60th).
CLASS 2A
Jacksonville senior AJ Charpentier was The State Journal-Register’s highest placer in the two-day Class 2A boys state golf meet at Weibring Golf Course in Normal.
He finished with rounds of 7-over-par 78 and a 79 for a total score of 15-over 157 and finished tied for 42nd. Charpentier was the only area finisher to make Friday’s cut.
GIRLS
CLASS 2A
Sacred Heart-Griffin senior Natalie Zak finished her final golf meet of her high school career in a tie for 24th place on Saturday at Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth.
Zak made the two-day cut with a 4-over-par 76 on Friday and then finished Saturday’s round with a 7-over 79 for a total score of 11-over 155. There was a four-way tie for 24th place. Her final birdie of her career came on the 154-yard par-3 hole No. 4. That put her at 2-under through four holes.
